About the Book The book is trying to examine the issues and challenges encountered by the elderly in old age homes of both India & Bangladesh . The main objective of this book is to analyze the nature magnitude and complexity of the issues and problems confronting the elderly old age home residents and suggest possible solutions . The problems playing the elderly in India and Bangladesh nowadays way have assumed slightly different forms . But basically they remain the same , thanks to a similar level of development and shared traditional values. The compelling need for money , food and shelter, for security and medical aid for company love and affection is very much there . And it is precisely because of this that the issue of institutional care for the elderly has assumed utmost importance and urgency. The home for the aged may not be the panacea remedy for the ills of the elderly but it can provide the healing touch to destitute , helpless elderly and ameliorate their plight considerably.
