The introduction of the Panchayati Raj system in 1969 in the then NEFA (North East Frontier Agency) and present Arunachal Pradesh brought land mark changes in the traditional village council of Galo community particularly of west Siang district. Therefore, the author has made a special study on it. This has been the maiden attempt of the author to the writing world. The present attempt is a case study of eight circles of West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh through empirical study .The book shall prove to be useful source of reference for the researchers and general readers. The main aim of writing of this is to pave the way for young generations to learn an indigenous tribal system of local self government and also to create a fertile ground for the young scholars who may like to do research on tribal village council and local self government. This will also helpful to the college and university students and research scholars of north east India and also the aspiring candidates for state civil service examination.
