Women constitutes half of our population and contributes more than 60% of world of work. Most of their work was not recognized in terms of economy but their contribution is significant in terms of reproduction and productivity. Women also contributes for the environmental sanitation and this is the group affected by the environmental sanitation. Continuing problems of pollution, loss of forest, solid waste disposal, degradation of environment, poor environmental health among rural mass, issues like economic productivity and national security, global warming the depletion of ozone layer and loss of biodiversity have made everyone aware of the role of women in environmental issues. In order to protect the women from impacts of environmental sanitation and disasters, there is a need to assess their knowledge, attitude and day to day practices of sanitation to provide feed back to the researchers and to the health administrators to restructure the existing environmental sanitation programmes and conceive new programmes. In the light of the above, the investigators made an attempts to through light on the Knowledge, Attitude and Utility of the Environmental sanitation by the women. The findings of the study has been presented in Seven Chapters i.e., Introduction, Personal profile of the Beneficiaries, Knowledge about Environmental sanitation, Attitude towards Environmental sanitation, Utility of the Environmental sanitation, Correlates of Knowledge, Attitude and Utility of the Environmental sanitation, Findings and Conclusions. In addition, Bibliography and Research Tools were annexed. The book will be useful for the researchers, field functionaries, policy makers, administrators and academics working in the area of environmental sanitation.
